Leo Sound was founded in 1980 by Harold and Deborah Haisler. We began by providing sound reinforcement for local and area dance bands. As it became known that the dance band had a sound company, they were contracted to be the opening act for larger name acts. This is when we began doing many of Asleep at the Wheel's Austin area shows. As a result of the association with Asleep at the Wheel, we were asked to provide sound and lighting for the Roadhouse Shows in the Kennedy Center during the Texas Festival in Washington D.C. in 1991.
As the years have gone by, we have continued to strive to keep current with technology always mindful of quality. Whether it be providing sound and/or lighting for a large or small event., we continue to hold quality of the production as the first priority.
Leo Sound currently provides production for many types of yearly events. Some are: the Austin County Fair in Bellville, Tx. (since 1992), the Fayette Country Fair in LaGrange, Tx. (since1994), the Colorado County Fair in Columbus, Tx. (since 1998), the Texas Poultry Convention at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio,Tx. (since 1997), the Elgin Hogeye Festival in Elgin, Tx. (since 1995), the Lockhart Chisholm Trail Round-Up in Lockhart,Tx.(since 1994).
Other events we have provided sound and/or lighting production for are: theatrical productions, weddings, conventions, city banquets, art museum galas, company picnics, talent contests, and seminars. As you can tell, we have many years experience and a wide variety of events we have worked with.
*Not bad for a couple of teachers who started this as a sideline business.*
Since we are located in central Texas, and up until now have been full time public school teachers, most of our shows have been in the central Texas area. However, we have provided production for events across the state. We have now retired from the teaching profession. Our two adult children, Rachelle and Winton, have become involved as sound and lighting technicians for the company and will someday take over Leo Sound.
We have many great stories and wonderful memories in our association with the music business and expect to have many more in the future.
